About Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2 is a game by video games developer Valve. A first person shooter survival horror game, Left 4 Dead 2 was released in 2009 and given as a free download on Steam in 2013.

Left 4 Dead 2 is largely based around cooperative gameplay and uses Valve’s Source game engine. The game is set in a post-apocalyptic world and centres around four survivors who must battle their way through hordes of zombies. There are five campaigns in which the goal is to survive and to escape. The game uses AI Director 2.0, an artificial intelligence engine to create procedurally altered AI that changes depending on the way you play the game.

As with the games predecessor the campaigns are shown on the menu and loading screens as a film in which the four survivors are the stars. Most of the levels involve trying to reach a safe zone but in the final level you must call for help and endure a prolonged period of assault. Each of the survivors in the game can carry one of five types of each of five types of items. The weapons are divided into tiers and include Chrome Shotguns and SMGs, as well as melee weapons, explosives, mounted weapons and pistols.

As you play you’ll also be shown the health of the other survivors, with the idea being to help keep each other alive.
