Haunt The House Terrortown

Side Scrolling puzzle action game Haunt The House Terrortown is packed full of charming graphics and fun gameplay, making for a laid back and highly enjoyable experience.

In the game you play as a ghost who has been forced to abandon its usual haunts because the people in the town are just too darned noisy. If you’re ever to have peace again you’re going have to journey between different areas, scaring people.

Clearly the plot here is a little simple, but intentionally so. It’s a cute and fun story that carries you through the rather brief (24 minutes) game. To be fair, there is plenty enough here to make you want to play the game, and it’s so enjoyable that you’ll be glad you played it at least once.

As with the rest of the game, the controls are very simple and you’ll get used to them in no time. You use just four keys in order to scare people using different items. The more people you scare the scarier the environment gets and the more abilities you’ll unlock in order to haunt people. The “scary” moves you use are funny and mischievous, creating charmingly lovable gameplay.

There are a few issues with the game. For instance, you don’t really have to make use of different objects. You can use one object over and over again. Thankfully, you’ll want to try all the different moves and objects if only because they are so funny.

The gameplay is also repetitive. The challenge doesn’t increase at all and you can’t help but get the sense that a lot more could have been made of this game had the developers put in the necessary work.

This game is entirely about having fun. There music is charming (laid back jazz) and the artwork is fun. The animation is smooth and the simple story gets you wrapped up in it.

Haunt The House: Terrortown is a simple game, but it’s a delight nonetheless. The only issue is that its clear the developers could have done more with it.
